Title: Collecting money
Post by: Steve.D on August 08, 2005, 10:57:27 am
If customers are not in I intend to leave a self addressed envelope so they can send a cheque in the post. I've been thinking about putting a stamp on as well? I know it can work out a bit expensive but I'm thinking that people will be more likely pay on time if they just have to put the cheque in the envelope then post it, rather than leave it on the side until they buy a stamp. Good idea or not?

I`m the same only do this after i`ve missed them twice. Don`t leave envelope or cheque just a printed letter informing them i`ve tried collecting so many times and they now owe me ??? £ and ask them to post it too me. they understand i`ve tried collecting and don`t seem to mind picking up the tab for stamp and letter.

I always leave a pre paid envolope. Nearly all of my customers that are not in during the normal working day use this method.
I explain that cash collecting is old fashioned and is time consuming (time is money).
I use a SAE with a note saying " your windows have been cleaned today by .... amount £.....  please remmit by return post any queries please contact ...... thankyou"
