Does anyone know if there is a height reach limit for using water fed poles?
-
Jeff Brimble has done around 80ft :o
-
Just that nobody sells over 72ft. Must be a legal reason?
-
wasnt there a russian bloke who had over 100ft
-
Valdin is our Russian member but I'm not sure if he's done 100ft, I know at real height you would have to have your pole supported with guide ropes for H&S reasons. ::)
-
Where would you be able to buy them? They expensive?
-
We used a home made one in Bulgaria at 108ft it was awseome, until we dropped it:-)
-
must of been heavy, think there is much scope for using one that big!
-
jef is 88 ft thers sum piks sum wear he used fishing poles so not that hevy
-
Wonder if telescopic or modular would be best for something that size?
-
250 miles, because dont forget the 6 metre rule and excemption of the rules for window cleaning, only joking, but some on the site would come up with some stupid rule, that they couldnt back up or couldnt support, then say it doesnt apply to window cleaners, and the list goes on
See how they like it, he have laughs last, laughs longest

Why must it be a legal reason?
several years a go the poles only use to go up to 50ish feet.
I think its down to manufacturing of poles and the materials used.

I cant see the glass being that clean with wfp at 100ft, surely you couldnt get pressure on the glass.
Here is Jeffs pic at 88ft
-
i could do a better job on a ladder than that pole ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
that pole must have some weight in it
-
Madness. ::)

Go on Woody, prove it, I look forward to seeing if you have got the bottle to clean at 88ft
We clean up to 60 ft and job is better than window cleaners who used to absale, and use mop & wiper, as windows stay cleaner longer and have more sparkle, thats not me saying, thats the large cutomer, quotes, and there are over 5000 windows to clean.
Not trying to turn it into a debate about trad v wfp, but it offer window that could not be cleaned before, now being able to be cleaned, even if it sometimes, not be as good as traditional window cleaning, I totally admit, on some windows, trad mop & squegee is the best method for some

If I could get sponsorship and a suitable building, I am confident that 100ft is easily attainable and tried to offer it to one supplier but they did not get back to me, its only when you get near 80ft that you realise some of the problems and then make the giant leap of thought of how to make the pole go to 100ft + PLUS This could theoretically be done with an F16, (or any mod pole)- which I have got to 80ft.
Having also got to 88ft at Sheffield- thanks Mick :)
120ft ???? .......yes I think so !
why put limits on dreams ?????? ::)
-
I've cleaned at 400ft...mind you it was the house at the top of Richmond Hill ;D
I think the pic of Jeff cleaning at 88ft is awesome.

I`ve worked at over 80ft. Harris pole and hired Peter Crouch for the day ;).
-
Crikey! Jeff, did you have mega neck ache and eye strain doing that job?
-
here is one i did not as high as jeffs but still plenty to go at,its highest point was 72 ft it wasnt that difficult but it was a very calm day i wouldnt of liked to do it if there had been any wind at all.

I do some flats on the coast at 60ft.
Used to use my 45ft tucker, but replace the top three sections, with 12ft sections
making 57 foot. Very very heavy, and you need a still day, there aren't many completely still days on the coast. :)
Now I use my fishing poles, mix the sections between the two types and I reach 60ft easy, much lighter too.
Tucker used to sell an 80foot pole, but supply a lanyard (rope) otherwise it would be quite hard to use and so you can have a guy on the roof to hold onto to it in case it starts to fall over!
I looked into it when I did a very tall building, but in the end said I can reach that floor but it will cost ya!
