i used to be a mechanic, astra can be okay but can have a dickey engine so it will pay you to go for AT LEAST a 20 mile test drive , watchout for any overheating or warning lights . theres loads with dickey engines that have failed on Ebay .

I've had loads of astra's in the past and thought they are great vans. Fuel pumps on diesels are expensive if they pack up so dont run out of fuel and it should be fine

I just trolled through the posts and noticed this topic. I am 18 and have an astra van with a 250l wfp system.

My insurance is about the same (£1326) as yours with 1 years no claims.

They are good vans but mine has a diesel leak.
