why would anyone want to go to all that trouble, all you do is reverse the pad, the velcro is already there,

its a great idea- the microtiger pad scrubs great -(whereas wagtail pad doesnt)

 also the microtiger pad holds a ton of water  so you can pole plenty of windows, whereas the wagtail pads no good at holding water and then your forever dropping down the pole to wet it

there is more pads for the wagtail, not just that one, the one you see in the pic is for indoor use mainly, you use the heavy duty ones that holds loads of water, thats the blue one they sell, also there is the thick microfibre one, so all you do to avoid crunching at the base of the window is reverse the pads to flip towards you, not away from you,

i find the wagtail has a good contact with the glass then a normal blade but when doin side strokes the sleeve gets in the way when wet 8)

thats why i reverse the pad, i had the same prob, now the pad does not get in the way, simple

I tried switching the pad on my Whirlwind but it is too short to use that way.

mines ok tony, is yours the same as mine, i think some wagtails are diffrent,

Mine has the green pad Joe. I tried it several ways but it just didn't work.
