Title: 15" Victor Sprite 230rpm

Would this be a good start to use for LM? Think it was Clinton who uses one (or simular) if im correct.

If so what (colour) pad would be best to use on carpet office tiles and what pre spray/solution. Also what would be best method-lm not my strong point, usualy HWE.

its a little fast but hey

what the hek it will do the job could do with a little extra weight too

try soft brush attachment for agitation or a white pad


also fusion clean is good i have tried this and its ok for bonneting but so is bonnet buff or chemspec roto brite

nice little machine to have woodbridge got one here

Exactly the machine I use Jason.

For a beginner, the 230 rpm with a 15"/400mm board isn't as daunting as it first may seem, and should not present a problem.

The slightly larger 17"/450mm is however, little more risky in the hands of an unskilled operator.

Although they both run @ 230rpm, the perimeter speed of the pad on the larger machine is quite a bit greater and could lead to scorching on polypropylene and greater risk of pile damage on wool. That's why I would always advise a newbie to 175rpm for a larger machine.


You'll probably find that your rotary will be the most versatile "tool in your box" and the best value for money you've ever had.

As for pads on carpet tiles, for pure agitation I would play safe at this stage and go for the gentlest white (3M colour code) Can also be used for Encap. For other carpets you might even try 3M carpet skimming pads. They almost look like a piece of rag but are terrific for agitation often out performing a brush :o  For bonnet pads, I prefer to stick with synthetic Turan fibre  'cos they are effective and easy to launder. But the choice is considerable and I'm sure others will pass on their preferences too.

Good enough for you Ken, then will be good enough for me :D So 230 rpm be ok for a newbie to lm for a 15".

Where best to by the 3M pads (or simular)

I get my pads from Dowding and Plummer in Birmingham, the manufacturer of the Victor machines. They may not be listed on their website bit I haven't checked.  http://www.victorfloorcare.com/

Should also be available from any 3M stockist.

Hi jason kens post is spot on with the machines.I ,myself use a 17inch machine with texatherm cotton pads.

It just takes a little time to get used to it and maybe a good idea is to try it on your own carpets or get some off cuts from a capet supplier and take that home and use it as a try out..

Also with the victor, is it good on wood flooring (and flooring in general) or would i want a heavier machine?
