ive done the ncca and the prochem and was never taught anything like that, think you need to go down the training route mike, i enjoyed that.
10 or more tutorial vids like that and you'll start getting subscribers to your youtube, then you could think about setting up tutorial days specifying in bits that don't get taught with hands on and stuff.
seriously! think about it.

Mike- What vac did you use to get the foam off? Was it just a general vac?

it was a little wet & dry tub vac.
we did this as a 3 man team 1 dry brush, 1 foam up, then 1 extracting.
With the badly stained chairs the person dry brushing then pre-sprayed & scrubbed them with a M/S

Like Derek i did the NCCA course but never seen anything like that :o i imagine that would be great on upholstery how does it compare to hwe and what do you need to do this.
more of the same please, very imformative thanks for taking the time to show us newbies :)

I know some would rather people do training courses, but what about a section with vids like you have done mike (maybey the other more experienced lads could do some also). As Derek says, showing you the more 'hands on stuff that training dont show'.
This could be upholstery, stain/spotting, hard floors etc.
Just a thought.

Just wondered how many have done NCCA traing or IICRC?

PS not a loaded question but both of these cover this cleaning although many others may not but offer great training also.

ive done ncca training and nothing got wet apart from a rug and a cushion. no hands on cleaning. theres a gap here for someone like mike to get a fanbase on youtube with good vids like the dryfoam one, obviously it was rushed as he had his hands full but he could of easily added the answers to what vac he used, what types of foams etc.
theres loads of guys on youtube doing tutorials, some on carpet cleaning but i think theres room for someone with some good niche vids like dry foam and how to apply sod mets, tips for stair cleaning, the list is endless.
like i said mike, worth thinking about. ;)

this method of cleaning is similar to the Von schrader method of cleaning, the foam I'm using is actually Von schrader red label which is there high ph foam ( ph9 i think). they also do a blue label which is neutral Ph

That's how I did it after meeting the original owner of Safeclean who used a foam generator ( like the little Arid machine ) and natural sponges !!!
I evolved that into using dry foam aggitated with my old Holloway upholstery brush ( similar to the little Texatherm Mini ) and vacuumed off.
This eventually evolved into using a bonnet type mitt which I've used to great effect on chairs and some suites along with Chemblend foam

I am shocked that method is not covered by NCCA.
As I understood the Sylbus and the reason for doing NCCA course was so Carpet Cleaners Know all methods and then can decide best one to use.

Like most things in life ...............There's little that's really new..............A year or so ago many were amazed at total immersion cleaning for rugs being demo'd .............how do you think they've been cleaned over the past zillion years ?
Look at your collection of chemicals and experiment on old items. You might surprise yourselves and make life easier in the process !

I was interested in your post on safeclean as when I first thought of entering the industry Safeclean were promoting the hands and knees natural sponge method.
Was it because operators had bad knees they changed

I could'nt believe what we were being shown by Mr Cooke ( forgotten his first name ) The method had apparently worked well enough for him to build a franchise set up, but with machines improving yearly and the offer from Guardsman ( I think ) he was at the right age to sell.
Having experimented with every type of sponge, brush, foam I could find I'd been using foam for a while including the other machine like V S but found the working heads to be heavy in use and it's only hen I started using the Chemblend foam ( only around £6 per 5ltrs ) and the little Texatherm mitts that everything fell into place.
Using a little vac as Mike does in the video is obviously good if doing suites or heavily soiled items and the little George or similar would cope as the returning volume is low.
