Post by: davep on April 07, 2010, 08:58:18 pm
Got job coming up with bad access for tm, carpet not bad condition apart from bits of make up.

Dave P - what do you use with your Thermadry?

I have used the Texatherm system on many domestics in the past - was my main machine at one time.
Used their 2 part cleaning pack.

Now would use Nemesis/M-Power (could lubricant) or Fusion Clean.

May pre spot with Solutions HD or similar.

Same as Clinton , except I rake before vac , and rake after finishing.

Often Wet the pad with hot water from a tap.

When I started with SM thats the way we used to do it, especially the raking of the carpet before vaccing or 'pilating' as they used to call it, really gets your pecs up doing it on those old 'cut and loop' nylon carpets.

And post cleaning pilating as well to make the pile look good.

Aah those were the days, single vac extractors...............

So none of you use a ringer bucket?
Dave.

On bigger jobs or commercials we use a wringer bucket.
We fit a 3kw immersion heater to the bucket so that the pads are hot when they first hit the carpet.
We never rinse and re-use pads but carry enough for the day and put through the washing machine at night.
LM cleaning is very effective on all but the most trashed carpets.

How long does it take (on average) to do an average soiled, 20 x 20 lounge carpet? just a couple of sofas to move and a few spots here and there? using LM?

An average through lounge will take an hour.

Some more, some  less.

Jason what chemical do you use? and what chemical did Chemdry use when you were with them?

I remember seeing a local chemdry using the big  bonnets that looked like a 'mop head' were they any good?

I use Nemesis /Mpower , With Chem DRY I used the Natural , which was a carbonated solution , I do not know what was in it ,, I get better results with Nemesis.

The bonnets were big mop things , I will bring one on saturday, along with what I currently use.
