i put a strap over it, and its sort of traped up against the bulk head,  this picture was taken  a few days ago, as i was emptying the van as want to get some welding done on it, then i can paint the floor, then the plan is to insulate the tank so i can put hot water in it and sort of have a warm water system

That last set up is very nice it secured down by the orange strap?
Title: Re: Set ups
Post by: LWC on July 18, 2010, 09:06:01 am
I had a cag made to hold the tank and then massive bots through chassis rails to hold it in place, the cage came in 2 parts so the bottom plate was boletd down, then the top part bolted into the bottom so if needed i could take everythin out and stil use as van, the orange strap was extra support really and to be honest not really needed.

Cant get much simpler than what im using at mo tho with my dad, ford galaxy, 400l 2 man setup cost me less than £300 to setup

And you know what? I pick up loads more work in that then i ever did in vivaro, hardly anyone would ask when i pulled up in that van, as much as i loved it, i dont feel it was a good marketing tool. So simple to use, water on reel out clean windows, no faffing.

And the beauty is, at weekends its all lifts out in one (with water out lol) And i put seats back in.

The tank in that escort van needs to be secured otherwise thats an accident waiting to happen.
I would suggest either a metal cage or at very least angle iron bolted through the chassis and heavy duty load straps.
I would never consider driving without a safely secured tank, madness.

Don't worry yourself, he said he strapped it down
Have you seen builders with an unsecured pallet of bricks/blocks, cement mixer, sledge hammers, spades etc etc thrown in the back.
As long as you aint driving it like a looney :)

You raise an interesting point. The end result is water coming out your brush, its interesting to see these systems for maybe a grand as opposed to a 'quality' system for five grand. I'll post mine up tomorrow !!!
I'll bet the ionics water comes out real good though dunnit?!!!!

You will have to resize them Daz.

Go to http://www.irfanview.com/main_download_engl.htm and dowload (its free and very simple to use).Once dowloaded go into the program and click "file" then "Open"  select the pic you want and click "open" now hold down the "ctrl" and R keys together a window will pop up to resize click on the 640x480 pixels on the right then click "ok". Now hold down "ctrl" and S together another 2 windows will pop up select jpg and then put  the slider  on 50% click save and you have resized :)

Tank being fitted in my tranny.

40/40 RO fitted on headboard along with pumps and controllers.

Each pump pushes through its own DI vessel. And a pressure booster pump so the RO can fill the tank in about 2 hours.

Wouldn't do it that way again though. But it all works fine.

Don't get upset, but what actually stops the tank flying forwards? Seems to be bolted for sideways movement and not the obvious forward smash through the cab direction?
