Directly from the battery.

You dont want to start picking up "lives" from other circuits.

Wire straight from battery, and put an inline fuse holder as close to the battery as possible

straight from the battery an insulated fuse holder from the poss n same on the earth two core wire    1.5 mm. Battery access passenger foot well under rubber matt torx screws hold floor plate down remove them that allows you access. But thats a short term fix ya need a split charge relay n a leisure battery. so ya don't flatten ya van batt on those longer working days. You can pick an easy smart relay from  Brocott  for £19:95 plus the dredded easy to fit simple we out the exspense of a conventional commplicated cut splice n solder 4rm alternator not necessarry this is a simple n good piece of kit fitted loads..
