I have wondered about this myself.
I suppose it tends to depend on whether your customers are domestic or commercial. I doubt that too many domestic customers would be bothered one way or another. And even for commercial clients it is unlikely that they will give you business JUST because you are a member but if they are browsing the Yellow Pages or equivalent they might choose to call a BiCS member on the grounds that they are more "professional".
I think that I will probably join before too much longer but I would also appreciate feedback from anyone who is already a member.

Hi Jonny
BICSC do have a car valeting certification scheme that can be taken at various BICSC approved training centres.
Having the certification will not only give you a bit more credibility but the chances are you'll pick up some valuable hints and tips while you're doing it. As Mick said, there may well be a case where a customer has to choose between one company and another and if the only difference appears to be membership of BICSc then it's obvious who they'll choose.
What you get out of an organisation often depends on what effort you put in.
I'd go for it!

Mike
