ive a job coming up . and am told that it is a controlled clmatic secured enviroment. its carpet im cleaning anybody know what the rest of this means .and what precautions may be required thanks ron

Hi Ron,
Do you mean a Controlled Climate Secure environment? If so, this normally would be the likes of a server room for computers or a room where the environmental elements need to be controlled - If you can give a bit more info, might be able to help more. The main part is, moisture (not allowed), therefore would be a hard carpet clean.

Not impossible to do, but very tricky. First thing you must do is check your insurance will cover you for this work, I would say probably no, because of the risk.
For a server room, you will be looking at a false floor with a void for all the wiring; under no circumstances can you allow any water down into the void. (Have you had a site visit?) Usually these floors are tiled (carpeted), also under the carpet tiles should be metal floor tiles, if this is the case, you could in theory lift these take them out the room and clean them and then return them.
What type of method do you use for carpet cleaning?
Also, you will have to make sure all your equipment has been serviced and that you have power breakers on each machine, because if one of them trips, you are in serious trouble. Also use power sockets outside the room.

thats helping alot i am going on thursday to see the place. im unsure that the equipment is installed or due to be installed i do no it will be carpet tiles of some type its possibly beyond my skills i think and if so would be glad to pass on to someone who can do it as long as they are not from kent . thanks for your help and i shall keep you informed as soon as i have had a look. thanks feng shui ron

Hi Guys
Recently completed a secured environment job locally, using dry powder sponges, no problems encountered my techs used our own sponges solution no1 but you could use Host, Envirodry, Prochem, just make sure thorough agitation and that you use a very good quality Vacuum to pick up.

As you can see I’m not into world/local domination that would be silly.
I do a bit of joint venturing myself and not always, carpet cleaning! But it is floor work don’t like ladders.
