Title: Some Brighton window cleaners
Post by: windolene on April 02, 2010, 02:52:24 pm
Hi,

I went to Brighton this morning & saw many window cleaners cleaning the shops. They all looked a right shower with tracksuit bottoms & jeans with bomber type jackets with scrim hanging from pockets.

There is a lot of posts on hear about vehicle presentation which is important in some cases but who wants a window cleaner who looks like he has spent the night in a garbage bin.

Also saw a husband & wife team.

Whats wrong with tracksuit bottoms or jeans. In this weather i wear tracksuit bottoms and when hotter ill wear shorts.
when i was trad i had scrims over my shoulder/hanging over belt,in pockets etc. How do you work then in a suit and carry a waterproof briefcase for your scrims.

to be honest you shouldnt really judge people, maybe there not as well off as others, and maybe theres a reason why they are doing it,as long as there doing a good job who really cares.just get on with your job and let others do theres.

Husband and Husband lol,

You wouldnt catch me wearing tracky bottoms or jeans, I wear combat bottoms a lot more comfortable and not too bad when wet, also dont think jeans or tracky bottoms looks professional but thats my opinion  ;D

not trad are you though?

i wear tracksuits but with waterproofs over, couldnt move in combats / jeans

have however combat shorts for summer

wfp makes it easier to dress smart as you dont need to be as agile ie running up ladders

I don't see how a traditional window cleaner can be more agile in jeans than in combats!

Am traditional. Maybe it my age, am 46. I don't like to see tradesmen in civvies. I like to see the postman in polished shoes, the cab driver in shirt & tie.

I am sure the cleaners I saw  do an excellent job, but on appearances they don't. The first cleaner I saw was in tracksuit bottoms & trainers, I was looking for the finishing line.

I clean top end domestic & hide my car when quoting as its getting on but clean &  quotewindows in all blue uniform as my son does. I always feel confident in quoting knowing that I look clean & tidy, the customer rightly assumes my work will be to. Lets face we are all guilty of judging a book by its cover rightly or wrongly, usually rightly.
