Title: stealing business
Post by: chris sloan on March 31, 2010, 04:53:54 pm
It hasnt happened yet but been thinking what would happen if someone had bought a round in an area where im working, and mistakenly said to one of my customers im the new window cleaner
and the people just agreed and let them get on with it?
Has this happened and how did it get sorted.....pref non violent answers but depending how i feel when it happens ...............

I bought a round recently, contacted and cleaned one of the jobs, only to be told later by the custy that the guy I bought it off was never there cleaner.
They paid me for the one clean and I walked away. The neighbour confirmed her story.
I just left it as it was clearly a missunderstanding and not worth chasing.

I bought a round some years back, turns out the guy who sold me it had nicked the book from another cleaner. I threatened him with police involvement and my money was returned, eventually.

I once had a situation where some guy was canvassing and was telling my customers that I had given up and passed my work on to him.  ::)

Fortunately my customers know me well enough to know that I would have told them first. haven't ever seen the guy or lost any customers to another w/c, so it would seem that his scheme didn't work.  :)
