Thats it.
I normally charge £5 a fortnight so if they go to monthly its £8.
-
Tell em its now twice the dirt as fortnightly, hence extra work for you, hence extra charge. As was said earlier will still work out cheaper over a year
-
ill try to be on gaurd next time but it comes when you least expect i cant realy afford to to loose any custys at the mo ive only a small round ill wait until iget afew more and dump the messers ;D
-
You dont need to dump them just lay the rules down.
As long as they pay you there isnt a problem.

Years ago i had a lawn mowing round and i had a guy who had a lawn that took me 4hrs to mow. This was done on a price...and halfway through the season it bought a new mower and it only took me 2hrs....Yes you guessed it he only wanted to pay half the price then.....Customers!!!!!

That is what I do. Mulled over starting to charge more but decided it against it.

My work is run mostly on a 6 week cycle. Due to the winter we had I lost a complete cycle. Yet when I finally got round, most windows still looked clean. I had to touch the windows to feel the dust that was on them. It didn't take me any longer to clean them than if I had been on time.
My point and question being: How much extra time does it take to clean windows that are done every 2 weeks compared to every 4 weeks?
My answer is - none. I have a small number of fortnightly customers, so I am speaking from personal experience. Maybe some customers realise this. :)

Even the monthly to two monthly you cannot tell much difference. On some windows maybe depending if the wind has blown loads of dirt up. In the end I think we do not clean the windows on a regular basis we are keeping them from getting dirty.

fortnightly is too frequent in my book!god ive not done fortnightly ones for at least 10 years!4 weekly/6 weekly and 8 weekly.90% of mine are 4 weekly.6 and 8 get charged more as they do take slightly longer to clean!! ;) ;)
a lot of the time my 4 weeklies are 5 weeklies and some 8 weeklies are 9-10 weeklies
I THINK WE SHOULD ALL CHARGE MORE FOR THE LONGER FREQUENCIES!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

i supose charge what you think you can get a way with and be prepared to take the odd chance of a change of cleaning freqencey an ;Dd live with it

I think fortnightly is pretty unusual these days. I only do one domestic job fortnightly and there is a particular reason at the moment why they want it that frequently. The rest of my domestics are 6 weekly (going on 8 depending on how well I keep up). I only manage to do the fortnightly job because there is some fortnightly commercial work nearby so I lump it in with that.
-
possibly a third of my work is fortnightly, same goes for a lot of other cleaners around here,i charge same price for 2 or 4 weekly,if some one tried to charge me £8 a month for a £5 every 2 weeks id stck with the fortnightly to make them work for it

Davef had already increased the price and wanted a reason to cushion the blow a bit. You wouldn`t go back to the old price if she would you?
