I'm stuck in as its pouring down :( Do you advise custies of changes to their due day or do you just change them and turn up on a different day?

I had this problem when i first started, basically booking customers in on specific days.
I have found that it just doesn't work when you work load increases significantly and/or the weather is playing havoc.
I now tell my customers that they will see me in approx 4-5 weeks...they know what to expect that way.Of course if there are access issues i will allways call the evening before i clean them.
New customers are now being told 4-6 weeks and to be honest i can see this moving upwards eventually for the majority.
:)

i was also thinking about holidays and the likes, seems that some folks like to have a certain day and stick to it, minority though true enough, which would make it tricky to fit em all in. Can't do anything at the moment as it's hammering down!

The way i am looking to do it is by having a twitter page or facebook page where my customers can go to check.
you could put messages on there like due to bad weater we are running late by two days ect

That would be fine if the majority of customers had internet access and were computer literate. Most of mine are nearly dead so i doubt i could train them to do that... ;D

when you get a full round its virtually impossible to keep to certain days.i say ill be round again in 4-5 weeks or 8-10 weeks on 2 monthlies.
most custies are not bothered.DO NOT stick to set days.you will just end up letting custys down!you need flexibility in this game!
1.bad weather
2.sick/bank holidays/summer holidays.
3.time out when you ve got low motivation and want a day to chill and do something else! :P
all these will affect your round esp when your full up with work.its part of the business we re in.dont get down about it or annoyed as you will get round in the end!
its great in summer when you get round on time for a few months but it doesnt usually last for long!(not my round anyway!!) ;D ;D ;D

thats the only thing, good idea but its making people aware that you are on twitter. Long term though as more people become aware of it could be really good, one tweet and everyone is up to speed.

Morning dazmond :) i was wondering what your thoughts were. Was just worried that some custies would get narky. Spent this morning researching an ro filter to make my pure water production more efficient.

never promise to turn up on any given day,the round just rolls what ever next gets done next

Tom if I inform my custys about being round the next day I always tell them "depending on the weather I will call round tomorrow".

Agree with this. Don't commit or give days. You will only end up letting them down. If you are building a round you will chop and change so much as it grows it is better to allow flexibility from the off.
