if you cant afford a wfp system  just get a unger pole and trad from the floor,  thats what i use to do

if you have to use ladders the WAHR is about section 6 is about ladders as long as they are secure then you should be ok

dont listen to all these people i only started window cleaning 3 months ago i bought a 3.5 metre triple ladder from midland ladders the good thing about these ladders are they can be used as a single a double or a triple this size will cope with any job you may come across good luck in your start up business i have already got 120 customers and i am making a decent living i dont think i would go the wfp route till you get established and have your regulars and plenty of income i personally dont think i will ever buy wfp as many of my customers one in particular being a massive old house only took me on because i cleaned windows by hand with ladders

with the basic cost of going with a wfp system the same as a good set of ladders plus the safety devices that you should also use with them, I would seriously consider wfp.

Why you might ask, and the simplest answer is MONEY, you can earn more for less stressful work with wfp.

90% of customers are ok with wfp if it is used in the correct way and it actually cleans their windows, a ladder does not offer this on its own, it is the skill that the cleaners applies that works.

Most commercial will not allow ladders on site.

Get one with "D" rungs rather than box shaped rungs - kinder to your feet.

i swear by those "boneshakers," made by ABRU ,granted they flex a tad , but you soon get over that . arent cheap to buy now either you will see

the great  thing is they are VERY  light  , nothing is worse than heaving a heavy ladder around all day . mine have a rating of 150 kgs,  23.5 stones

mine are the same rating from middland ladders and not much diff on weight

a downside of the ABRU  is they catch the wind  like a leaf when you arent on them,  i  read of a tip to fix a small bungee cord to the top with a crocodile clip on the end to fix to the gutter or sill  maybe

i know the ABRUs  look rubbish, clank as if made like an old bean tin  but theres something about them .

on reading Abrus own website, they do an even lighter "target "range ,for the homeowner . the ones on sale in BnQ are the "professional " range , though i agree they look cheap, ive given mine a lot of punishment  and no worries

Wooden without a doubt.
Try CA Browns ladders - Bradford, West Yorkshire
They make specialist window cleaners ladders - light weight, rungs closer together and wired underneath. What the professionals up North Use! ;D

LYTE are a good trade ladder, wide "D" shape rungs, light & rigid.

DO NOT use a DIY ladder from B&Q etc.

Screwfix sold LYTE ladders the last time I looked, good price too. ;)

Probably go for 3.5m double.

I would also get a 2.5m pointer, my pointer is a "ramsey"

Right the best ladders for window cleaning ARE the A frame ladders or pointers as they are also known as, first of all the pointers are designed specifically for window cleaning. they give you more scope in regards to angles you have the ladders etc.
standard H frame are NOT as stable unless you use a stand off.
However pointers are more expensive than standard H ladders.
