Do you feel this would be enough to secure a 500 ltr tank in a transit connect ?
http://www.cleaningspot.co.uk/acatalog/Tank_accessories_and_parts.html
(scroll down to "Set of 2 powder coated heavy duty metal brackets")
or should I opt for a full cage ?
either one will be properly secured through the chassis etc.
thanks ;D

Go for the full cage.
I know Ionics seem expensive but if you can stretch to it, go for one of theirs.
Crash tested. Your life may depend on it the worst happens.

gardiners are also crash tested and quite a bit cheaper also I think brodex do.
Then straps are made for the tank you have, I would go for a FULL CAGE, BUT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SELL THE METAL STRAPS IF THEY WERE NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.
you can have a frame made at a welders, or try purefreedom.co.uk they make tank frames and systems.
it is down to you and what you want.

personally i would go for heavy duty bolts ( the strongest you can get Class 12.9 )
through the drainage holes in the chassis
spreader plates under the chassis
heavy duty tie down lorry plates
5 T rated ratchet straps ( 4 of them )
side to side ( front and back )
and
front to back in a X pattern
the tank is going no-where then
your tank securing is only as strong as your van chassis
