Title: van advice please
Post by: Blue Frog Systems on March 26, 2010, 04:16:04 pm
Am going to be looking at a new van soon and wanted to ask what you guys think.

I currentley have an N reg expert that's starting to cost more and more. Rather than throw money at it I'm going to spend the cash into a better vanm

Price range - £3k ish

Size - was thinking swb transit size

What I'm wanting to carry...

400L wfp tank plus kit. Possibly upgrading to a 500 - 650 in the future.

Also in the future I'm going to want to carry a gutter vac & pressure washer, so space needed.

What do you reckon guys ? What vans would you reccomend I look at ?

thinking along the same lines as you
but i don't think working with all that kit in it all the time is going to be eazy ! will you also need a genorator for you vac ? with a full load you may be close to the payload

I am going down the road of two vans one for the windows and a seperate van for the gutters facias and patio cleaning

I think in thew long run it will be more cost effective and less hastle

The kit won't be in the van all at the same time.

When I'm doing the gutters / jest washing the water tank will be empty

so with your jet washing are you going to offer facia cleaning as well ? if so you might need a bit of pure to reclean the window afterwards

I am just thinking if am there i might as well do the whole job in one ?

Stick with an Expert/Despatch/Scudo and get a 2nd hand trailer for the one off stuff. Any bigger than a small/med van and it gets difficult to park at times.

That's pretty much what I would say. I would go for the smallest you can get away with for ease of parking etc. See so many van pics on here with a diddy tank strapped in with acres of unused space. Just my opinion.
