I have a holloway power brush sitting in my garage right now. Fantastic machine, much better than the Chemspec pile lifter the other choice at the time. It needs attention.
Wish i could find someone who could fix it. I also have a slow speed Cimex RS 38 which needs attention. havn't used either of them for a long time maybe 10 years. I brought them both somewhere around 1984. If anyone knows anybody who can fix either of these stunning machines please let me know, I am based in West London but am prepared to travel a long way to get either of these fixed.
The Holloway Powebrush was imported by George Holloway and Co who were based in Harlesden, North West London about a 15 minute drive from me. They shut down about 15 years ago.
This machine was actually made by minuteman in the US and was imported by holloways who changed the voltage from 110 to 220/240.
Google 'Minuteman pile lifter' loads of stuff came up last time i looked.

Cimex is now distributed by Truvox who are in Southampton - easy to find on the internet.
Cant be much with the Cimex - motor (which is pretty much bulletproof) and a electrical box.
Worth getting done as the C38 is handy for domestic carpets, and hard floor cleaning too like tiles on kitchen / hallway floors.

Hi Idealrob
Don't know from your post if you are looking for this particular machine but if you are looking for a heavy duty vac I have got a Chemspec Pile Lifter in very very good condition which I would consider selling if you were interested.

Hi Guys
The Minuitman and the Holloway are similar but don't have many exchangeable parts. I own both.
If there's a brush and bearing assembly for a Holloway out there I'd be interested.
Cheers

A Minuteman salesman used to be in Sutton Coldfield a couple of years ago (dave?) If I can find his number I'll post it.
I had a brush custom made for my Holloway powerbrush here...

The chaps name is Horace, a fascinating guy who will make you any brush up to nine feet long. A Holloway brush used to last us about eight months. The one he made has lasted at least six years!

It looks like the bearing and carrier assemblies are regular off the shelf engineering products. I've got to get mine repaired sometime soon so I'll know better then.
Details about a brush are listed elsewhere in this thread.
Safe and happy pile lifting :)

Hi Ken
Yes, I was told that about 4 years ago by an engineer. I'm still waiting for it back ::)

Hi Tony
You setting up a museum or something ? I'd heard that you had joined the ranks of former carpet cleaners that now have much better things to spend their time on. (Long winded way of saying retired)
