THE BIG QUESTION...... how much you pay?
Title: Re: just bought this.
Post by: derek west on March 25, 2010, 02:30:22 pm
it holds 250 gallon but personally i think it may hold more!

it has a diesel engine producing 220bar 3200psi 18lpm, 13hp

it has lance, turbo lance hand gun, telescopic lance, 16inch spinner, drain jetter and other bits and bobs.

its 3 to 4 years old with "apparantly" not much doing, failed business venture. well not failed but couldn't make it work for 2 of them.

and i paid

I think its a nice looking set up with those side panniers to put all the gear in.

Looks good. £2800 anit too much, you can spend more than that on a good porty!
Think of it as an investment, atleast it'll make you more money than any £2800 worth of ISA's ever could! :)

Title: Re: just bought this.
Post by: craigp on March 25, 2010, 10:29:40 pm
at 2800 I say very good value!

maybe a bit OTT as an add on service, what I mean is, I want to be using it quite alot if I'd invested in it, also I want somewhere to store.

I quite like Derek, he dont take him self too seriously, we'd get on well ;D and as Oscur Wild said, "Lifes too important to take seriously"

But as was said to me once by John Gotts "stop worrying about getting all the latest shiniest bits of kit and get out there and earn money"

I think you could earn good money with that, I would suggest setting up a seperate website and company name for that division, like a patio cleaning website, people dont like jack of all, but specalists, and being two seperate entities could combined keep you very busy.

the most important information you need !!!

when you invest in the best machinery your normal hourly rate goes out of the window, don't compare P/W with carpet cleaning, what you achieve in an hour of P/W with the best equipment is of a higher value than an hour of carpet cleaning.

and..... if it takes a powerwasher 6hrs to clean a drive with a average machine and charges £300 why should you charge any less because you have invested big money in the best equipment...... even though this equipment does the same job in 3 hrs.

don't be charging £40 an hour or you will be a robbing yourself

Oh please don't use it for presure washing gutters out, or at least not domestic properties.
Trust me on this, pressure washing gutters out means the cr.p will fly at least 3 hours down the street which means you then have a major clean up on your hands, along with a lot of hacked off people and ensuring neighbour disputes breaking out.
Maybe commercials......on a Sunday.....with no cars around, otherwise you'll be creating more work (unpaid) for yourself.

A friend of mine aquired a similar setup a few years ago but couldnt make the surface cleaning pay enough, so he diversified into drain cleaning with use of few extra attachments and emergency unblocking etc and now makes an absolute fortune, gets called in by local council etc.

worth thinking about if you dont mind getting a bit mucky  :o

You're not wrong. The last time my sewage line blocked up it cost me £90 for them to turn up, turn on their super blaster, lift the drain cover, shove it up the pipe, blast the cr.p out, put drain cover back on, say 'there you go,' here's the bill and goodbye........15 minutes :o

Derek I used to go on an american P/W forum ( forgot  its address) but it was full of useful info, I remember them saying about bleaching decking with some hideous concoction.

might be worth searching for the site.

Think you need a Bigger Van or 4 x4 now Derek, I would imagine if that was full of water you would be over weight. Looks like its a monster bet you cant wait to try it out ??

P.s Hows the leaflets coming along ??
I agree......I  reckon you will be well over weight loaded...check it, insurance wont pay out if things go wrong...better to be on the safe side. I do alot of trailer towing get stopped 2/3 times a year for weight checks.
