Title: Google
Post by: Raymondo on March 23, 2010, 07:35:26 pm
Last November we made an appointment to go and see some carpets in a mobile home.

The owner spends the summer in the UK and then goes to Portugal for the winter.

The problem even though it was written in the diary I forgot that I had arranged to go and see him.

The next day (saturday) I rang him and apologized to him for not keeping the appointment and then arranged to see him on Monday Evening.

We took the carpets away as they were fixed to the floor with press studs. We then took them back the next week and also gave him a discount for not arriving when we said we would on the original appointment.

Last night we were looking to see if our website was still number 1 on google, which it is, but we noticed that this customer has posted a comment about  us on Google map.

He posted

I had an appointment for an estimate at 6 pm..An hour and a half later they have not arrived !! I once ran a successful business based on customer satisfaction ! If for some reason I could not make an appointment I would contact the customer to re-arrange an appointment. This firm obviously believes that they are above this polite system !! If they are shoddy with their customer relations, then what must there service be like ...

We emailed Google to ask them to remove it but we won't hold our breath.

We have posted some comments that we have had from some of our satisfied customers

Must be in the "local business guides" on google. Why not pause the advert, then start another advert, but without the reviews

Looks like you caught the guy at the wrong moment!  I'm assuming you clicked the 'flag as inappropriate' button to contact google but like you say I wouldn't hold my breath.  As I see it the post which appears above the problem post seems to address the points the guy raised in his post.  It just shows that anyone can write what they want about us and it's there for all to see.

Wipe the slate clean with Google and start again if that's possible. Some people are only happy when they are moaning and this idiot sounds like one of them!

You can start again, but google will work it out and move the new one to the bottom

If you are going to accept customer comments, you have to accept the bad with the good,
I have never forgot to turn up for a survey or a job, sorry to seem harsh but if i waited in for a tradesman who never arrived, then rang the day after i wouldnt be too happy either.
Use it as a positive and dont make the same mistake again.
