Title: Upholstery question

Only done 3 upholstery jobs so some advice welcome please.
Just ben to look at a job.plain colour so no poss of colour run,light soiling only.Yellow fabric 42% cotton/58% polyester according to the label.
I wet a bit at the back,rubbed it ect fabric looked fine and dried with hairdryer,everything looked ok,just a bit unsure if HWE will be ok due to the cotton content.

Any advice appreciated

Keep it safe a neutral ph dry with turbos spend a bit of time on it.

Shauns right and also dont overwet and plenty of dry passes..

Its takes time to get your confidence up.Think on my first suite it took me 5 hours ::)

Concentrate on the cushions and armrests.
The carcass itself will, in all probability, be clean so just need a quick pass
with hand tool to spruce it up.

If unsure / confidence booster use encapsulating foam, and only hwe on the dirty parts.

10 am,problem is its in Gorton, Manchester which is some distance from You and about 15 miles from me,got the job from a recommendation of some carpet work I did for her friend.I took the job as I need to get some experience on upholstery.I will give you a call this week about it and what we spoke about last night.

Hi

with upholstery always manage the clients expectations. dirt can hide wear and when you remove the dirt the upholstery will show its age and this can be a shock to some customers.

I don't know if anyone has explained to you about "wear age" it a way to explain to someone what to expect.

You can have a carpet or sofa that is say two years old but has had ten years of use in that time. this works the other way ten years old with only two years wear.

When looking at upholstery also look out for wear around the seams as some fabrics will tear when drying out. Paul P teaches to use net curtain over the fabric when it looks risky.
