Dear customer
Ill be shortly changing over to pure water cleaning with poles instead of ladders for the majority of my window cleaning work.its much safer and private than using ladders and you wont have anymore holes in your lawn from the ladders!the advantages are that you will get a much more thorough clean as i will clean all frames, sills and doors as standard.you should expect the windows to be left wet to dry naturally.as ill be using dionised(pure)water and a soft bristled brush to scrub the windows/frames of dirt.also i will be able to reach previously inaccessible windows(skylights, above conservatories etc).health and safety regulations have been tightened up on working at height and as there is now an alternative to using ladders i am complying with the law.if you have any queries or questions to ask me about the new method or any concerns about the water-fed pole system do not hesitate to contact me on: phone no.
many thanks

The Water Fed Pole System
Dear Customer,
Your windows will be cleaned shortly using a method that will soon become the industry standard – The Water Fed Pole System
The system uses extendable poles and 100% pure water that has been purified through reverse osmosis & de-ionization vessels.
We are now using this technology for a number of reasons:
1) ). HEALTH & SAFETY – A new legislation from Europe now limits the use of ladders. The law now states that ladders can only be used when all viable alternatives have been considered, and now The Water Fed Pole System is seen as a safer and more viable alternative for window cleaning.
2). BETTER CLEANING RESULTS – The major advantage of pure water is that it absorbs large amounts of dirt from your windows. The process involves brushing your windows clean with pure water; as such they will be left wet and will need time to dry naturally. This may be a bit disconcerting at first, as obviously this is not what our customers are used to. However, once dry your windows WILL be clean and smear free also using this process all your frames will be cleaned as well not just your sills.
3). ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY – Only pure water is used, eliminating the need for detergents and chemicals.
4). IMPROVED SERVICE – We can now reach with ease previously inaccessible aspects of your property. Hard to reach windows above conservatory’s, Third floor windows, skylights, etc…
Please note that if your windows have been cleaned in the past using detergents or chemicals it may take 1 or 2 visits using our Water Fed Pole System to remove soapy residue, this may result in minor spotting on your windows. However please be assured that once this is cleared you will be more than happy with the results.
My aim is to continue to provide a high level of service. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding the above or any other aspect of our services.
Thanks

I just did them with it and explained when there were there, don`t go to overboard on the this is the new way type of thing you will encourage people to say no thanks. If you give a letter before you clean some might not even give you the chance to clean there windows with it,some people just don`t like change you`ve just got to be brave and do it.

I did,nt give them letter in advance only when i was there to do them. If they were out i posted it through the letter box.

Swapped 4 weeks ago , do a 3 week cycle and not lost a single customer yet.......touch wood :)

Below was my letter to customers informing them to panick and nit pick work:
Ian ;D
-
i gave out letters to start with then after a few days i didnt bother, most custys of mine didnt take a blind bit of notice than i had a pole instead of ladders i had to mention it to them.
-
its only for those that seem a bit sceptical as im priming them up well in advance!most of my custys are long standing(over 10 years)so i think they trust me! ;)
i do think most of them dont care as long as the windows are clean!im gonna keep a few on me to hand out though over the next couple of months to let them know whats coming!
a lot of my custys have never even heard of WFP let alone seen it in action!! ::) ::)

DB WINDOW CLEANING SERVICES
Hi mate. whenever i write a letter to my customer especially if its to introduce something differnet and we all know customers hate change, i will always start the letter telling them how much i appreciate there custom. Make them feel good throw in some compliments, make them feel important...cos they are.
without them we have no work. You can use your charm even without speaking to them.
Works a treat every time for me.
Put yourself in there shoes. you be the customer when your writing the letter would you be happy with the change...complete change of cleaning the windows...no matter how many times you tell them ithe windows will dry with out spots or smears they never seem to get it and prob nor would you if you didnt know any better. how would you feel as the customer if you go straight for the kill....THE CHANGE!
You would prob put your back up straight away and be cynical but how much better would you feel if your window cleaner told you from the start of a letter how grateful he was for your loyalty, promptness in paying and generally being nice polite people.
This will have more of an effect than just soften the blow of change.
By thanking them for there loyalty and promptness of paying will actually make them more prompt and more loyal.
This really does work. i believe the success of a business like window cleaning is all to do with how you treat your customers...even the really bad ones!

I went over to wfp completely, get it over and done with, as has been mentioned many times on here the majority of custys are only interested in clean windows. 99% of mine didn't bat an eyelid the ones that seemed interested about the change i took time to explain the ins and outs . I even had the odd 1 or 2 offering me a bit extra.
Don't get me wrong at first I was nervous about the change after 24 years trad but as days turned into weeks to months, hey no worries what was all the fuss about. I didn't lose a single custy. I still regard myself a very good window cleaner whether i'm holding a pole or occasionaly an applicator and squeegy, I reckon you'll fit into the same category Dazmond

If you dont give them a letter you will waste loads of time explaining it to customers as you go along.
-
;) You forgot to mention, it waters the plants!
-
It kills the plants.
-
Why, exactly?
-
Pure water cleans the dirt of windows... "It absorbs the dirt" I've heard it said!
This being the case, the water that lands on the plants, is no longer "Pure" in fact it is full of impurities!
This feeds the soil and by extension the plants!
I've never "Killed" any plants yet!
-
thanks ross i reckon ill be ok.i bet your all sick of me asking questions about wfp!!ive done alot of research on it and im still a few months away from the changeover!ive been on a few holidays as my girlfriend is sick and we dont no how long she has left :( :( and with the bad winter its set me back a bit moneywise, but now this year is a big investment year for me.should have my new van by july and up and running wfp in august!

Dear Customer.
Please note that I will shortly be changing my cleaning method. This is because I'm a lazy git and don't want to climb laders any more. A lot of people pretend that the Health and Safety rules have changed but it's because (1) I'm a lazy git (2) I want to earn loadsamoney. It's much quicker than climbing ladders and I will earn more money. However, please don't be put off when I turn up in my Rolls Royce with a water tank in the back to clean your windows. Also, I won't be turning up as much because I will be able to afford to have a lot more holidays. Please note that if youare concerned that I will no longer be peering into your bedroom windows, each brush will be fitted with a camera and periscope system. Some people use these for viewing gutters when cleaning them from the ground but seeing into people's bedrooms is much more fun.
Thank you for your ongoing custom
The Window Cleaner.
