Whilst standing at the entrance to Windex on Friday, the fella
Stood in front of me said that now even the 2 meter working height
From even a `V`ladder or pointer was not allowed.
Seems strange to me,known him for awhile, and he`s commercial
(large too) work only.
Anyone else heard of this new law adjustment ?
Thanks for replies.

I believe the WHAD is not set to any height, so even 1 inch from the floor means you could be breaking the directive if someone had an accident.

Take look at this web site I have not seen any changes yet.http://www.hse.gov.uk/contact/faqs/heightreg.htm
and also this one

The WAHR you can only go 9 meters high
Working at height is centimeter of the floor
It says when you want to work at height you have justify what method you use
You have to do a suitable and suffetient R/Assesment
You have to use the safesty way possible
And every thing should be done under as reasonable practicable

HI brian I do not understand how i can go up to 9 metres but can only work at a c/m of the ground,. What will i do at 9metres them. just sit?

Off the floor means at working at height
9 meters is in leglelation

It means WAH regs start as soon as your foot leaves the floor even by 1cm
-
hi brian
you mention the maximum height for ladder use being 9 metres i have it on all my risk assessments the maximum height we should use a ladder is 6 metres have i got it wrong i am sure i put the 6 metre rule in for some reason but cannot find the documents i got the information from.

Trevor
The FWC as made a statement and recomeded 6 meters, this is guidence only
The law does say 9 meters
I would leave your documents alone as this would be deemed good practice
