went out collecting yesterday and had a custy asking when i went wfp been it about 8 months now, as she got rid of her last wc as he aws wfp and she didnt like it, any way she was complaining that the windows where smeary, they where fine when left, the other 2 neighbours never had any probs, her back yard isnt the worlds cleanest, what would cause the smears as never had this prob before after so many cleans, or she just being arwkard, as she said i can carry on doing them if i scrap them dry when i have finished
please dont turn this in to a trad v wfp which is better arguement lol

sounds to me shes goin g to be a pain in the backside, she could be wiping the windows herself because she does not like the water on there.
Maybe say to her if you want the lower windows bladed off this can be done and will cost x amount more, when she says shes not paying more, I would reply and say there is no need to blade off the water, it cannot smear it has nothing in it. spot maybe but smear no
Have you explained in details about wfp ?

If it's not on the inside there's a good chance (if double glazed) that there are marks/smears "between" the two panes of glass (on the inner faces). This is not un-common, some are worse than others, it's more apparent when the sun is shining into the window. If you were to inspect closely enough nearly all double glazed units have some marks on the inner faces of the panes! ;)

I would ask to see the evidence of the problem myself. Ask her to ring you straight away next time it happens.
I've never seen smears from wfp use, spots yes, but not smears.
Customers don't always tell the truth.
I had a lady the other day tell me she didn't want me any more because her windows were covered in water spots. When I asked why she didin't ring me straight away, she said she didn't like to complain.
About a week later I saw her coming out of the Jobcentre. I could be wrong about this, but my reckoning is she's out of work so she's decided to make some cut backs.
If that is the case, I just wish she'd been more honest.

She's looking for an excuse for a discounted price on the bill. Wfp don't smear unless customer tries to wipe windows dry with a cloth themselves. Ask her to ring the next time it happens so you can judge for yourself. Spot-yes, smear-no ;D

thats whay i thought, as when i clean my own windows, i might get the odd spot but never smearing, to be honest she has probably tried cleaning them with a dirty cloth,
-
has she been cleaning the frames with a cleaner, sometimes this leaves a residue on the glass when they dry, if so you will need to clean the glass when the frames have dried, and tell her not to do the frames anymore.
-
i think she is too lazy to do the frames, i do the frames every time i go and they are clean

I had a customer who said there were smears once but all it turned out to be was that the droplets of water get very small when they are drying so a cluster of them that hadn't fully evaporated did look like a smear.
Simply explained that the windows hadn't fully dried and sure enough they rang me back to say no marks once they were fully dry.

I never accept complaints unless I can see the evidence for myself. They could say anything they wanted to otherwise. A shop wouldn't accept a complaint about something you'd bought unless you took the article back to show them what the problem is.
If she'd rung me to way there were smears, I would have said "OK, I'll come round tomorrow and have a look"
If she said something like "Oh, I've wiped them off now" I would say "So how am I supposed to know what caused them? If it happens again call me before you wipe them off so I can see".

hi daz.
i got comments like this about wfp when i changed over nearly 4 years ago.
I just think comments like smears or dries smeary is just another way of saying i don't like wfp.
don't let it knock your confidence.
i had custy say to me last week you keep missing that window at the back! like the last window cleaner!
said oh sorry i will have a look at that i don't usually miss windows.
It was smeared on the inside where hubby had been painting; little opener it was alot cleaner on the outside! and the last time i did it was 6 weeks ago ;D
i even offered to come in and do it for her.
but no?
Don't trust the dodgey window cleaner bloke ::)
