Call today from someone moving into a new flat. She said there was a black area in the corner of a room that she tried to remove with milk :o ???
Why milk I asked.
Someone told her it would get the stain out. ;D
Well it got the stain out apparently.
What about the smell you'll be left with when the milk goes off I asked.
"Didn't think about it at the time and thats why I ringing you now, it stinks" ::)
Havn't seen it yet but what will be best to treat it with, enzyme digester & plenty of deodoriser & sanistiser?
Thanks
Paul

I think the protein in the milk helps remove mascara if I remember right!!!!
-
Really......not heard that one Colin.
Will ask her when I visit what the stain was/or she thought it was.
-
You might have to go deeper, if it's a flat are they concrete floors underneath, and i bet the underlay is well and truly penetrated, but yes plenty of enzyme digester and sanitiser will hopefully turn her diy job back round!!!!!

I can't for the life of me remember where I read it ???

I've heard of milk to remove ink stains on leather, never tried it myself but it maybe what Colin was thinking of .

Hi
You can also use milk on blood, it's a digestive enzyme.

What would you recommend Martin? Red top or full fat?
-
full fat only, more enzymes ;)
-
Just so happens I have a bloody job tomorrow, 30 or so droplets...might try it.
-
got a blood and wine one on wednesday, now theres a challenge.
-
Hi
For blood drops spray on diluted persil liquid (1/2 -1 cap full in a 500ml spray bottle)
Extract with either cold water or a terry towel (using a towel won't contaminate your machine)
Or milk, leave and then extract

have you tried milk on black coffee and add 2 cubes dont waste it on stains
-
Martin, what do you estimate the dwel time is on using milk or persil (I presume you're talking biological).
I have heard of using milk before and logically it makes sense due to the enzymes.
-
Hi
sorry, yes, always use Bio-logical as it has the enzymes. To neutralize blood with a bio-cide they recommend 15 minutes, I have used the persil (bio) and terry towel and dwell for 5 mins, I would probably do the same with milk, never used the milk method personally.
I have also used persil liquid (BIO) as a pre-spray (cue the shock and horror :o ) and do get good results with it.

Hi guys
Far simpler to use an enzyme based product, biological wahing powder does of course contain them.
Trouble with the miulk method is that you now need another enzymeto get rid of it 1
This is something I am going to cover at the CCDO.
Cheers

Oh use only liquid never powder, powder will leave a residue (those bits that don't dissolve) ;)
-
Dealt with the blood today....Couldnt bring myself to walk in the house with a bottle of milk though.
Lost my bottle so to speak ::)
-
There are few things that smell worse than than when milk goes off. A few months ago I split some down the back of my office desk...I didn't clean it up immediately.....it got bad..... ;D
-
i got into a tumble when i wore a younger mans clothes years (and years) ago and there was blood on my shirt. a drunken irish guy at the bar told me to dab it with milk when i got home, i thought he was nuts but perhaps he was either a cleaner or a chemist!!
colin ;)

cheers martin, tried it today, poo my pants when the carpet turned blue but then flushed it out and hey presto, the blood was gone.
oh! persil not milk
-

nope
used it neat, only dabbed it on though. eek, anyway, truckmount flush, no worries ;)
-
so do enzymes (which i'm guessing are the bio in persil) digest protein?
gonna do an article for my facebook page and need to get the facts right.
-
Hi Derek
Basically yes they do, it's what they are for to break down protein and fatty deposits.
Go to google and put in biological stats or biological enzymes and they will give you a breakdown of what enzymes are in it and what they are for.
I use it in all my EOT cleans and it has certainly made my job easier.
