Chepstow said that some members were abusing the PM's.

Some were threatening or obsene.

Isn't there a way to block certain members who abuse PM's from using them?

How can folks here exchange phone numbers or addresses?  Need PM's to maintain semi-long-distance-professional-relationships

Some consider their email more private.

With this particular setup the admin cannot read PM's (or could not I should say)
And Mr Gould keeps on about using Email, but he hides his own address! Or he did the last time I looked!
I miss the PM's too, but unfortunately they won't be coming back anytime soon :-\

Ian

Thank-you, and may your God go with you.
Curiouser and curiouser..... ???

Is there much point in this thread any more?

Doesn't look like it's going to make any difference now.

We'll all just have to make our e-mail available to others.

I'm a mercuriel fella - here today, there tomorrow...

'Mercuriel', in literary form, is generally associated with women who change moods easily!

Example; Sharon was extremlely overweight and during 'red flag week', when 'Manchester played at home', she was always mercuriel.

Quote taken from Little Women by Loisa May Alcott.

I like you Graham, you're weird! ;D
Go to your profile and change it to an email address you can actually remember.
I'm not to bothered, but there have been an occasion or two when I would have emailed you, perhaps when as a mod I've changed your text in a post, or maybe a personal comment of agreement or disagreement on something you may have said, or someone else may have said.
You make a lot of pithy (I did say 'Pithy' didn't I?) little posts, quite prolific in fact, so on occasion, in the absence of PM's, and in something that wouldn't require a censorious act by a Mod, it would be good to be able to make a private reply.

With us Mods, I'm the nice one, Tosh is the nasty one! Lots of red ink! ;)
It's all that Army training!

Regards,

Ian

I have never seen a forum with so many complaints (member of several).  Maybe we should plan a mass exodus to another forum with PM's and less moderation.
