anyone done their van recently?
all i know so far is that it stinks and def to wear gloves!
just picked up my new van and was thinking of painting it now the weather is getting better.
with having 4 days off over the easter bank hols, thought it would be the best time to do it.
need to rip out the ply lining for two reasons - the anchor points (6 points) are all covered by the ply.
so def need to rip out the wheel arch ply and the sides - as joined to the wheel arch ply.
everyone says to me leave the ply lining in! of course they aint a wc - not fitting a tank, just x line trolley and 25ltr containers.
anyone got any pics of their vans - especially smaller vans like p partners or c berlingos

We didn't use Protecta Kote when we got our van :(
One year on, found our ply floor rotten and the van floor needs some welding!
We did paint it, but with a cheap kind of paint, Protecta Kote is the way to go, I'd agree that it would make sense to do it over the bank holiday, as it will smell! leave your windows slightly open if possible to help air out your van!
Before Matt says it, I'll say it myself! He wanted to use Protecta Kote from the start but I didn't see why we had to use something that was so expensive! Now I wish we had

Did my van in December, just rub the old paintwork over with the scourer thing that comes in pack (well it does in kit I got anyway) just to take the shine off the paint, then roller it on,leave it for so many hours(says in instructions) then give it another coat.It does smell, but its not anything more than most paints smell, keep stirring aswell so rubber bits do not settle to bottom of tin,oh and just sort of dorb it on rather than trying to paint as you would with normal paint.Would not of thought you would of needed to do it though with trolley and containers, should not be much water sloshing about

hello martin ive just coated mine this morning going to do another coat shortly . It took me bout 1 hour 30 min to give it a good sand then i just washed it down dried what i could and then left for an hour so the rest would dry and then painted round the edge and about an inch and a half up the side then rolled the floor with the foam roller that came with it . says on the instructions to paint the second coat the opposite direction to the first one for a better finish

Hi we did ours a couple of years ago when van was new - wish we had painted stuff a little higher than we did (only did a couple of inches) and also wish we had coated the ply that we put down as a couple of years on it's all rotten - still you live and learn - hope it goes ok for you
