Title: dragonfly indoor system
Post by: Mike #1 on March 19, 2010, 05:53:46 am
dragonfly indoor cleaning system on window cleaning warehouse £399.99 an add on to vikan easy shine kit using a pump you can spray water on to glass as and when needed no proper pics though you get a 20ft pole with it as well ,   Just a thought but if i used my own pole took off the brush head and attached the vikan easyshine kit to the pole  then got an inline hose connecter for pole hose and a van jet and fitted this to sit above cleaning pad using my purefreedom trolley inside i could switch trolley on and off in short bursts to spray glass thus saving myself about £350.00,  What do you all think ,opinions greatly appreciated

Would'nt a pressure pump up bottle filled with ro water work?
just make the clear hose longer,  spray a mist onto the glass  ???

Joe got a good deal from Streamline for some parts to make an indoor kit, but the dragonfly does seem a bit overpriced for the complete kit.

Anyone thinking of making their own should stay away from any fan jet. It will just put too much water on the window. You need something that will provide a vapour-like mist.

Don't get too drunk Joe!  :P

Hi Paul (hitman) sorry to hear about the painfull injections.
We now have a angle neck with vapour spray outlet  built in and fits the vikan  one end and retrofits your pole the other, so just remove your waterfed pole brush and screw this on instead, then the end of your pole that normally connects to hose reel or trolley, connects to a 1 ltr pressure sprayer with trigger (comes with a strap) .
Shame it was not complete in time for the show though.

Will also come with a foamer brush which you can screw onto your pole, so you can put our uniclean chemical into the 1ltr container, this can be used to apply (from ground level)chemical to facia,s conservatorys etc as an agitator.

Sounds good Craig. I think a simple pressure sprayer would probably be just as good as a battery / pump system. Look forward to seeing it on your site.

sorry for the delay with pics, i was stuck in the highlands  ;D just got back tonight
though i have not tried one yet, i think the hudson 4ltr waist tank would be ideal for to complete this indoor system, look here, http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Indoor_Cleaning.html i have an idea that can make this become adaptable using our wfp system we already use, will show it this week some time

Forget the rip off vikan kit this is what you need i have this and its top quality its available at Argos and Homebase

Then you can get the same mini sprayer like the one from Gardiner from ebay cheaper

Having tried my own diy version for quite a few months, with many and various micro cloths, I suggest caution to all those guys that believe the hype and must have one of these £499 versions at all costs.
You will not beat a good scrub and a blade on infrequently cleaned indoor glass. You could alwayd use a simple wet vac and blade from carpet cleaning technology.
I just got a hazy messy finish.  :-[
