Title: Compact modestly priced work.
Post by: AuRavelling79 on March 17, 2010, 09:04:53 pm
Like the more progressive on here I try to increase my prices and fill in gaps in my round. However I have some ex council custies whose prices are still under a tenner for a three bed semi but which are still a good earner. I thought I'd time myself, work steadily but briskly and see what the hourly rate worked out at.

So I pull up in the old Doblo and position myself so that I can do five houses from the van. Start 13.05

House One - Semi 25 yards from the van all UPVC no modifications £7.50 - pays up
House two - similar to house one - £10.00 - pays for hers plus house 3 and 4 (cuppa and biccy too)
House three - adjoining house two plus conny  from which I do one side of the conny from house 2's garden - £12.50)
House 4 - over the road - £ 7.50
House 5 - (don't do the upper backs above the lean to because I didn't when I was trad and the old girl said not to bother - £6 pays up

Reel in the hose and start engine. Time 14.02

Total time 57 minutes
Total earnings £43.50

Drive for 4 tenths of a mile and position van
Start 14.06
House 1 Modern detached £12 - pays up plus cuppa
House 2 Modern detached plus small conny £15 - pays up
House 3 Modern detached £12 - pays up
Finish 15.01
Jot down paperwork

Drive off 15.03

Time 55 mins
Total Earnings £39.00

Total for 2 hours work including paperwork. £82.00

I would say this work (as individual houses) is a bit underpriced but grouped together it is very good indeed.

Don't knock compact modestly priced work!

The first road i ever started cleaning (And grew up in) is the same. All council houses for no more than £6. I park the van on my parents drive to fill up and clean 19 houses on a 100m hose without moving it. I wont tell how long it takes as i dont like to boast

i have 2 weeks of very compact work on 2 big estates.ranging from £3 fronts,£5/£6/£7/£8/£10/£12 modest priced accounts and do well on them and easy to collect as well!

but i must say i earn more some days on just doin 7-10 well priced scattered accounts! ;)

this compact work is my "bread and butter" jobs!i am slowly getting more well priced bigger accounts and i have 5 small commercial jobs

also i clean some very compact one bed granny flats in a poor area at £2-50 a time and still make 30+ an hour! ;D ;D

im happy with it!! ;D ;D
