hi,
I have a job on friday, customer has motor oil staining on beige livingroom carpet.
She said she has tried to remove it with some supermarket carpet cleaner but that it has been left like that for 2 monthes.
Any advice on the best way to remove this?
I was thinking of white spirits as a last resort as it can be aggresive.

flush with hot water, apply ultrapac renovate hot, leave 10 mins then rinse.

To be cautious, use liberal amounts of defoamer too :)

blitz has worked well for me in the past

Are we talking unused oil as in fresh from the can or used motor oil complete with carbon in it? Think you'll find one will need a different process to the other.
I did a garage last night and even with heated prespray of Ultrapac and heated rinse there were still patches where oil marks could be seen.
I'm thinking a true solvent will be needed even a dry cleaning solvent, these will have better results than a water based solution.
