Title: quick question
Post by: derek west on March 14, 2010, 06:52:35 pm
gonna get me one of these so my technician can prespray other rooms while i'm wanding.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280477983384&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

obviously i'm gonna get a drop in pressure and obviously its gonna be 50%? which means, if i'm wanding at 400psi then when he presprays i'll be wanding at 200psi. have i got my maths right or does it work different to theory?. any one tried one in this format and does it work well?

Yes and No.

If technician is keying the in line sprayer then in theory when you key at the same time then 200psi each is correct then if you don't key and he sprays then he will be at 400psi and visa versa then there's a flow issue.

I think for £20 I would just buy it.

If you using a hydraforce type sprayer you need to note whether it is a high pressure version or a low pressure one. If its the high pressure then 200psi may be too low and you will only get water through and not the pre spray solution.

What is the minimum psi required for the in line sprayer? If it's say 100 psi, could the psi to the sprayer not be somehow restricted ???

Sorry Joe, I see that you have mentioned 2 types of sprayer!!! What's the minimum psi for the low pressure system I mean?

My inline sprayer is high preasure and states you can use it from 50psi up to 1000psi use mine at 100psi with my powermax and works fine.

I use a hose splitter on larger jobs and it does save a lot of time on a job I made mine up myself and the parts cost me more than £20.

I would have thought the pressure valve would just stop diverting so much and both connectors would receive the full 400psi.

used it today, worked really well, used at the end of 50 foot, run 2 x 30 footers off it, one with wand and one with hydra force, presprayed 2 bedrooms while helper agitated then straight on to the wand, when helper finished agitation he sprayed landing and stairs while i was still wanding, just slowed the wand stroke down a little, other than that it worked perfect for both wanding and prespraying, so all in all, bluddy good piece of kit. and at 20 quid a ruddy bargain.
