Been struggeling with the motivation recently had a death in the family.wife had a baby last week need to start pushing for more work thinking about getting 10000 leaflets and having them delivered by a company full price for this is £115 for leaflets and £200 to get them delivered what you guys think about the response you get from leaflets I no canversing is best b it want try this approch.
-
i recently put out about 900 leaflets, in shops, delivered, with custys etc, got about 3 jobs of it, but a lot of that is down to the area i think, as i never got much luck when i was knocking them, got an over 9000 to put out, but cant find someone to do seems no one wants a few weeks cash in hand work
-
I had 10,000 leaflets dropped last October, but I am pretty sure they didn't deliver all of them as I only got a few customers from the initial drop.

The company I got to deliver them out of the yellow pages there located in the town am thinking of having them dropped and he said if I gave them to him Tuesday they all b delivered by weekend.hi mb when you say you only got a few on initial drop I take it you mean you still getting calls from them?is it something you would do again?

Firstly: Sorry to hear about the death, nobody too close I hope.
Second: Congrats on your newborn.
Personally I found that leaflets were a waste of time. People like to see the face of somebody who is going to be on their property.
A method I always found good was: "Hello, for a fiver (£7, 8, 9 10..etc) I can run the ladders up and bring your windows up a treat....here's my card luv"
99% of people will at least take the card and the odd 1% will say: "Yeah ok, what would you charge for the back as well"?
NB! Have ladders on van/car around the corner and do them there and then...sort of canvassing and earning at the same time.
Trust me, hiding behind leaflets isn't the way forwards.
Good luck.

Horses for courses. I have a round of nearly 350 jobs built up in the last two years almose entirely from dropping leaflets. My friend in Dublin lost his job a year ago and now has a round of 175 6 weekly customers built up in exactly the same way.

Have to agree with some of the posts. Leaflets are a waste of time. The only way forward is door knocking.

Alright Ian
I always find setting a goal for a certain day helps.
eg £150 turnover for Monday.
When my motivation is down i seem to get out of bed later so i try and be up early ( 6am ) then get prepared as soon as possible van equipped and out waiting at the first customers house ready for 8am.
I think it helps when this gets into a routine

What happen to those canvassers you were using? i thought that they got you more work than you thought you were going to get from them. Sorry to here of a family member passing... congratulations your new born mate.

Thanks guys new borns are hard work lol very tirerin up every couple of hours never mind chasing my 3 year old around to.yes I did use canversers and to b honest they did quite a good job but what I found was the only work I have ever lost is the work they got me.I think this is just down to pricing they price very well compared to what you tend to get round ere.I in the past have used leaflets I knocked out on my pc and done quite well wit those to just thought simaler wording on a more professional looking leaflet covering more homes than I can alone should bring in more.or so I am hoping.when I say motivation my van is prepped night before its just the actual cleaning think its more of just a stale patch
-
ive had a great return on my leaflets, i will always follow them up with a door knock though, also i have just had my van sign written and ive already picked 4 new houses up off that as well
-
Van is signed up hot web sites am in Thompson local and yell.com the fee listing also in the new yellow pages when that descides to come out.and in a couple of the small rags they print around here as well.just nice to keep coming up wit ideas to keep things moving as we all no its a good feeling when you pick up a new customer think that's more of a buzz than earning the money

i think canvassing is the only way!!ive never ever had leaflets in 16 years!get a few,do a good job, then get recommended etc and your on your way if your concentrating on domestics!!
i think it goes on your personality as well!if your miserable and scruffy without an ounce of charm or humour and look untrustworthy youll get a lot less work than me even if your a better window cleaner!thats how it is with domestic custys!! ;) ;D ;D
i do have business cards that i hand out to new custys and anyone who wants my number!! ;) ;)
get out there!!
best wishes
