Hello! I have a 12v auto shut off solenoid on my ibc at home and the battery i've wired it to keeps on going flat. Does anyone use a 240v to 12v converter or something similar. The battery which is quite new won't hold a charge anymore and to keep on buying a new one would be a nuisance. Cheers fellas!

speak to varitech they built me a box that converts 12v to 240v
or even maplins will be able to advise you on a few connectors to do it

Why don't you just use a power adapter like on kids toys etc? That's what I use on mine. They're only about £5 - £10

Why don't you buy a 240v solenoid and plug it in directly? Whilst they are initially 'expensive' surely it will cost less in time and effort and reliability to go this route in the long run.

Luther, youve got the solenoid already right?
So all you need is a 12 volt power adapter like I already said other wise you're gonna need different fittings etc if you fit a washing machine one. It's not gonna fit to 15mm copper pipe and if you fit a 240 volt one you're still gonna need some cable.

Yes,i already have one but its for my static at home ,so not in the van. I think a transformer is the option! Going to have a quick Google on Maplins site. Thanks for the help everyone. :)
