am considering getting a berlingo or partner mpv.
just wondered how many 25 litre containers would fit in the back boot end with seats still up?
-
You might squeeze 8 in, but I think it would more likely be 6. I can get 8 in the area taken up by the rear seats, but the boot area is slightly smaller I think.

my guess is it would be 8
4 accross X 2
you could then fit another 2 in the footwell of the rear seats

sorry, i see that ian has replied
mine is only a guess, at 8, as i have fitted a tank

Give me an hour or so and I will go and have a look. Watch this space... ;D

i bet its 8 ;)

You could be right! ;D
Martin, you can get 8 in. There won't be much room for anything else though. That is why I use the rear seat area (with the seats folded out of the way.)

i used to use barrels in my old VW passet estate then my fiat marea weekender estate, i knew it was about the same sized boot area
you can get some nice folding sack trucks thses days, add to it a pump box and a battery and you would be able to work out of the berlingo multispace fairly well with the seats in place ( as i guess Martin ccs is planning to do )
the berlingo has a really tall roof space, so you would be able to put stuff on top of the barrels
-
Yes, you could put stuff on top of the barrels, but I tend to find things start flying around if you have to brake sharply. :o
Probably best to keep it to 6 if you can and put extras in the footwells if you need them.
You may be able to make use of the split rear seat, folding just one part away, whilst leaving the other half usable by passengers.

we you fill the van full enough, you find that braking sharply doesnt work ;) i think of it as a superliner cruise ship, it had a rather large stopping time and a huge turning circle :D :D

Yes, I tend to use that train of thought when driving. It helps when the 1.9 diesel has a 0 - 60 time of about 3 weeks. Unfortunately, on very rare occasions drivers / cyclists / pedestrians like to test my reaction times and the berlingo's brakes. ;D
