Wife got me to clean the oven, 'clean the oven or no food for you', was something she said.
So used Mr. Muscle, normally I use caustic soda but it was in storage shed and could not be bothered to get it, and it smell bad.
So what do the oven cleaners use, cos Mr. muscle is crap and caustic soda ain't H & S

go to B&Q karl and ask for some elbow grease ;) ;)

I use an anti bac degreaser that our cleaners use, put all hob bits in a pan and boil, spray a hot oven with it neat, ok if done regular. For customers i use Jangro's oven cleaner,
or oven and griddle cleaner, but cant remember where i got it, these i use in a heated dip tank.
Colin Day may also advise, he does quite a few i believe.
Andrew
ps i empty our chip pan and put 1/2" in put on to boil, keep an eye on it as it can boil over,
basket is spotless in 30 secs from hot.

Window cleaners razor blade thing get`s most of it off,if you warm up the oven a bit, then go in with some Vanquish, but don`t get it on you,and rinse out after !

Recommended by my missus who knows her place and cleans her own oven. :o ;D ;)

I've used caustic soda on a few, normally in a soak tray with the racks in it, but a couple of weeks ago one of my gloves leaked and left me with a nice peeling skin burn mark. ::)
Nasty stuff.
Like Andrew also use Jangro Oven cleaner sometimes but was out of it and had another to do last week, so grabbed some Mr Muscle (new formula, it says) from the supermarket as it was on offer and found it worked great. Still had to use window scrappers, wire brushes, etc but worked better than my normal cleaner.

Spray your oven with a strong degreaser like Brillo from Booker, and leave to soak.... If it's really bad I will use Mistral Carbonoff with the clients permission.
Then scrape away using your window cleaner's scraper. With a wire or copper scourer and some "Astonish" Paste, scrub like you've never scrubbed before.
I then clean all the emulsified crud out and attack the more stubborn burnt on spatters with the scraper with a fresh blade... A fresh dry scourer is also useful for getting the hard to reach carbon deposits off.
Some of my customers tell me that they have cleaned their wire shelves in a bath of hot water with washing powder like Daz with good results!

Same here dennis.
She also uses the stainless steel clean and polish on cooker hood etc.
Absolutely brilliant stuff and lasts for ages.

Colin i have just got a small grit bin with the hinged lid cut a hole with hole cutter putting in a cover under that a immersion heater 1.5kw to heat the water up if i dont kill myself i let you know the results ;D ::) :-\ :-\ :-\
-
if you also have the time span, put a cup of ammonia in the oven and leave the door closed over night
or at least a good few hours.
you'll find the carbon and grease just wipe of the next day, also use the astonish paste to do the rest.
obviously use discretion if doing this in a customers house, but we do alot of empty properties.
