I was cleaning some pub carpets other day in local town, parked on a wide pedestrian area outside pub, placed hose under ramp, and placed cones over 4' of hoses.
While having a coffee and ciggie break with landlord outside, i noticed that only 1 in 5 would actualy walk over ramp. The rest tried to squeeze between cones, or walk 20 yards around van.
So much for keeping to H & S

same here andrew, the only people that use the ramp are kids on bmx's ;D

Had a girl on a bike, mid 20's got off and picked bike up and carried it over ::)

All to often we found that pedestrians were walking around the ramp or van. Kids used to love it though on their bikes.

I find exactly the same, the extend of human stupidity knows no bounds!
Same as you on a wide path Andrew, I watched an OAP walk up to my ramp, step sideways, pick up her little shopping trolley and step over the HOSES. I felt like giving them a sharp tug just as she was doddering over :D
Funny though, today two people walked past with their dogs and the people walked over the ramps but the dogs both walked round it! Maybe doggies don't like the yellow/black combo!

Same here. Many times I park the van so you have to direct yourself to the ramp. I then put safety signs around it, yet people still do everything they can to avoid the ramp. I thought it was just me that noticed this.

People are probably worried a hairy arsed carpet cleaner would shout at them for standing on their equipment ;D
