Title: berlingo mvp for wc? any users?
Post by: Martin ccs on March 06, 2010, 10:59:51 am
looking at one at a local garage but wasnt sure if it would be as good as the van version for wc?

just worried about the differnt boot and of course the seats in the back.

anyone use this vehicle or anything close to it? and how does it work for you?

I do and so does Matt. It works well for me with plenty of space, but it doesn't have as high a weight limit as the vans. I don't have a tank, but use a few 25l containers every day. I have a large gardening tray placed where the rear seats usually sit (they are folded up) which can carry 8 containers. I use a boot tray for everything else, but would probably have bought another tray as I think it is better.

yes i do, as ian has pointed out

they are handy, the seats really do fold out of the way, then fold into the footwell of themselves

i fit a 400 L tank in mine, i removed the seat belt bolts and fitted racing harness eye bolts in, then in the rear i drilled from the underside of the van , though the existing holes in the chassis and through the floor, put 12.9 rated bolts with a spreader plate under the chassis, then on top a chunky tie down point for lorries

i then painted the floor in heavy duty floor paint ( its fine after the over 15 months ) it has no traffic on it as the tank fills the complete floor space

then i used 5 tonne ratchet straps to hold the tank in

i can take the tank out in about 5 mins ( if i need to )

only downside is its a pooeron and the build quality is not up to VW ( our family car and my last 2 vans ), but then again its not got the VW price either

I got mine from a local garden centre. About £12.

The Giant Plus tray in this link:

The site has a list of stockists too.
