well joe this forum is in need of a makeover and a fresh look. It's purpose as i understood it was to take the sponsoring companys website to number one in the website rankings.

That is no longer it's purpose, it is rather now a forum in search of a purpose, and if that purpose could include a revenue stream then that would be good too.

A software update might help speed the forum up a bit:

good shopping list, i didn't know half of that, but you're wasteing your time because the guy in charge is a carpet geek. The core competence of this forum is windies, but time and again they try to broaden the appeal.

As you say sort the uploader - emptying any carpet pics would be a good start.

heres a good idea, each member is allocated a certain amount of space, when they reach that limit, they need to delete old usless posts ect, plus would stop member making usless remarks ect, if they want more space the administrator can give  bonus points if members post more, but must be meaningfull posts, basicly reduces admins time, this is the future of forums now, i myself have now set it up and ready to incorporate into my place, server bandwidth is getting very expencive now

i used to run ( pay the bills ) a fair sized IT forum, it was started nearly 10 years ago now, at its peak ( about 7 years ago ) we were spending 300 a month on bandwidth, now thats expensive, today its peanuts compared to back then

Get rid of "word association." Or cut out posts in it over one month old.

Drop off the one years posts on a rolling basis. Drop all posts over 3 years old.
