Title: Customer on elastic
Post by: ftp on March 04, 2010, 05:33:19 pm
Had a gutter clean today and the customer stood about two feet behind me for a solid two hours following me around whilst I vacced first then washed it all down.
As soon as I finished he vanished indoors leaving me to ring the bell and wait for nearly five minutes to collect my money  ???

Had a woman a while back follow me room to room while I was doing the insides.
She didn't even attempt to make any conversation...just watched me (probably making sure I didn't nick anything)  ::)

Won't be going back...really made me feel uncomfortable!

similar thing happened to me yesterday.
cleaned a biggish house, took an 1 hr 15 mins, just shut the van door after putting away all the gear and the lady owner came out with an basket full of washing and said, i hope you dont mind waiting 5 mins while i hang this lot out because it needs to get dried.
sure she done it on purpose.

hardly surprising with the amount of cowboys who run up clear a bit of soil hang around for ten minutes then ask for the cash. its been going on that long that its only natural customers will want to make sure they are getting what they paid for.

i agree it is annoying

The only time I make mistakes is when a customer is shadowing me or chatting while i work.  Missed windows - missed rinses - pull a plant pot over.

When working alone, I get into a routine and know exactly what I'm doing.

The only way I've managed to move them on is by pretending i don't know they're there and subtely turn the brush 'accidently' as I move to the next window etc. No appology as I have no idea they are following me.  ;D
