Been asked to clean a 'Duresta' sofa which I am told is 80/20 viscose silk mix.Anyone got any suggestions?

You will have to proseed with caution as its mostly viscose.

I always test a hidden part of the upholstery and see how  it looks like the next day.

Did a similar suite a few months back and the test area looked like a "wet rat" so dry cleaned using Dry pro and additive from Prochem using terry towels and alot of patience. ( pre vac first )
This came out ok but important to explain limited results to the customer with the dry cleaning process.
Oh and don't forget goggles, mask and gloves  :)

Regards.
Ben.

Fabric has no pile, would never have said it was silk/viscose but custy has contacted Duresta and they have told her this is what it is.

The dyes can bleed, but you can test for that.

Especially in abrasion areas, the fabric can split :o Sometimes, no agitation required, it can split before your eyes. Try and and see :o :o :o

Safe and happy cleaning :)

I have wet cleaned viscose quite a few times I usually get a good result with dri foam then a light hwe but turbo dry immediately, viscose may reduce in strength by 70% when wet so be careful.
