Hello all again,
Im currently thinking of buying a Trolley to start up my business, but just noticed how practicle the backpacks are also.
If i were to buy a trolley, I would buy the cheap one, the one around the £250 mark.
Anyway, I just came across a Backpack, and was wondering if I could start my window cleaning off with one of these, instead of a Trolley system, and maybe a 18ft pole?
Do the batteries last long enough?
It can also be mounted onto a trolley right?

You can mount them on to a trolley so you get the best of both. I have both and i would say the backpack is much quicker and easier for getting round domestics and as for battery life you can always buy a spare battery. I personally would go for the backpack!

Yep - this is what I do. Backpack that can quickly mount on trolley to save my back. Very practical for domestics. Have larger trolley for bigger jobs.

I have a brodex trolley and a back pack, put a ionics van mount.
I like using the backpack, it quick and easy.
I just got the back pack from http://www.johnhewitt.com/wc.htm it was the Backpack ESR16.
It is the same as the window cleaning warehouse one BUT has a Five Speed Controller, which is great for saving water, John also fitted a on off value aswell.

I use my backpack for those awkward jobs where a hose would be awkward or not reach works brilliant

and you may come across as a cowboy.
nothing personal mate but i find comments above laughable
the average customer hasnt and doesnt want a clue how wfp
works,you try telling them and after 30 secs their eyes glaze
over.
any piece of kit you turn up with involving a battery and a pump
that isnt a leather or a piece of scrim seems like it has been
invented by n.a.s.a.
the only thing that makes you a cowboy is if you do
a poor job

trolleys will have a bigger capacity than back packs

I use both trolley and back pack. Most of my work is done with the trolley, but the back pack is handy for stand alone jobs.
Even if you eventually decide on a van mount, your back pack will still earn it's corn for odd jobs.

So for a lot of terraced work where there's no access to rear with hoses, backpack or trolley?

Met a couple yesterday. Both use backpacks. He carries his around. His wife carries hers bungee strapped onto a sack truck. He does upstairs, she does downstairs.
They refill from 25 litre cans in the back of their car.
Told me they'd been windies for 6 years and never seen any need to change.
If it's good enough for them ...

I used to have one of Peter Fogwill's trolleys which would carry one or two 25L drums. Towards the end of my using it I put a carjack between the frames and widened it to take my backpack (18L) and so would carry a total of 43 litres and be able to use the backpack where useful.
Now I have a van.

honestly thought there wer eonly shurflo ones on market at one point. i am getting a backpack soon so keeping an eye on this topic
