I've got 3 Brodex Hydra alloy poles on order 7ft, 18ft & 26ft. I've just checked the 26ft weight against a carbon fibre pole and am shocked that the alloy pole is lighter than the carbon pole.
Brodex Hydra alloy 26ft = 2.3kg bare pole
Pure2o (ionics) carbon fibre multipole = 4.3kg all in
How is this right ? I thought carbon fibre was lighter than alloy.
Even if you add 1kg on for brush, angle and hose, the alloy is still 1kg lighter than the carbon.
Are my maths wrong here ?

Window wipers is assuming its all carbon fibre.
Advertising permits all different kinds of things; you could probably wrap a glass fibre pole in carbon fibre and still call it a carbon fibre pole when you advertise.

Ahem, really what a waste of time, fibre glass can be stronger more rigid than carbon fibre if you make it much thicker.
Point is nothing out there currently exist that's stronger than CF “weight for weight” it’s all about comparative weight for strength.
You are right, there is nothing out there at the moment that's lighter than cf but..
Saving $100 billion is a waste of time ???

Carbon fibre and fibre glass strength is also deturmentd by the weave of the glass and carbon cloth. Also poly resin or epoxy resin gave deferent strenght.There are many factors that count in weight to strength.

Yes comparitive weight for the height you need BUT it does exist 8)

7 ft only 3 ’4” – (3-section)
18 ft only 6 ’ – (4-section)
25 ft only 6 ’1” – (5-section)
31 ft only 6 ’3” – (7-section)
36 ft only 6 ’11” – (7-section)

I have the 25ft brodex ordered about a month ago and can confirm it is very very good.

i have a couple of the 25ft hydra alloy poles which we use all day i also have the 31ft and 36ft hydra carbon poles when i use the carbon poles they certainly feel lighter regards alan
