What way do ya wire up the pump to the van battery is it just a matter of running 2 wires from pump to battery or do you need to go through a relay?
-
One straight to the positive of the battery (fused) and earth the other one anywhere. No relay needed unless you have a leisure battery.

So its as simple as running wire from pump to battery positive with no need for the other wire?
You folk who run your pump this way is it safe and can you operate this way without problems with van battery, starting etc?
thanks.

Its that simple but just earth the other wire somewhere,it doesn't have to be earthed on to the battery. The system in my Transporter runs off of the van battery and some days i don't move my van at all and its fine. In my Berlingo i have a leisure battery/split relay system. Quite expensive to set up though and not necessary in my opinion

Yes it is that simple I run a T4 and haven't had any problems, make sure you have an inline fuse as has been said, I used I think about 21 amp cable to allow me to draw as much power as I may need in the future, just wind the earth lead on the pump round a self tapping screw and washer and screw into the chassis.
