Title: How many customers per day?
Post by: David Kent @ KentKleen on February 26, 2010, 02:51:48 pm
Rainy day again so just looking at a few figures and need some of your Experience please.
I am wfp 1100 ltr van mount tank 4040ro and di.
Most customers are within a 2 mile circle most 3 bed semi also 3 and 4 bed detached.

How many customers per day can i realistically clean on my own?? I have 130+ so far in 9 weeks. My goal is to clean 20 houses per day 4 days a week is this realistic?? I am not just quick flash over they are all getting frames and doors done thouroughly EVERY visit. your help would be appreaciated.

You should be able to achieve 20-25 per day on your todd. I do it. Not easy but its worth it. If you just started WFP you might be slower to start of but you soon speed up. Good luck in getting some more punters. ;D

It's better to calculate in hourly turnover, as houses come in different sizes.  Set yourself an hourly target (£30 is good as a starting point) then when you price your jobs, think to yourself that 20 minutes is £10.  Work out roughly how long a particular job will take, and price accordingly.

You should be able to do a standard 3-bed semi with no conservatory in 20 minutes.

I've used this formula for years, and quickly got to the stage where after (say) four hours I would be within five minutes of my target without ever having to look at my watch.

you should concentrate on the last 2 posts as they are allot more important then how many houses you can clean in a day. i think ian giles did a great post on this subject once to which i now  follow (some may not agree) i will try and find it..basically and i guess this depends on area too, was to try and work out for every min spent actually cleaning windows the aim was to earn £1 (or whatever your target is) per min this helps me price my houses better as i spent weeks timing myself on every house from getting out the van to packing up, so some were say  £10 i was doing in 8-10 mins so was beating my target (all the better) some house where taking a few minutes longer so i raised the prices up so now when i come to price a job up (residential) i picture it in my head with another house thats the same and know exactly how long it will take and then price accordingly. This has helped me loads in maximising an hourly rate. Of course you have your traveling time between jobs but some days you may not make the hourly target due to the round being a bit more spaced apart but then some days you will beat it when its more compact so generally will balance itself out.

hope that makes sense, some will disagree but for me it works well..

Working briskly and being organised on domestic starting at 9 am I try to hit 3 figures by lunchtime and do the same in the afternoon.

Personally I now aim to start at 8.45 and hit 3 figures by 12.30 and do the same in the afternoon, finishing by about 4.30. I also like to cover my costs of fuel and food by getting at least a tenner over as well.

This is the pace I can do day in and day out - any more and I get knackered after about day 3 - but I am an old geezer! And I probably only have about thirteen days work per month of regular stuff.

In fact if I am not outside my first house until 9.30 I feel demotivated and "know" I won't get my target. For me being started before 9 am on domestics (even if only by 5 mins) is a great psychological boost.

i would base your day on what you need to earn that way you can keep shuffling and refining your round as you build it up.
i sort my days and weeks out by what i need to take .you can always ring me if you need any advice.
but you seem to be doing well enough so far.

                                    all the best dave.

i earn more on some parts of my round just doing 12-15 houses a day than i do cleaning 25 compact houses due to pricing!

when i go wfp ill be canvassing the bigger houses and try and get some good priced work where i earn more for cleaning just 7-8 accounts a day scattered than on compact 3 bedders!

i think this is the way forward with my business esp when i go wfp!big well priced domestics!

i think roy hardings got the sort of round i can only dream about!

I WILL GET THERE IN THE END THOUGH! ;D ;D

ONWARD AND UPWARD!KEEP BUILDING AND INVESTING! ;D ;D
