Title: the big(ish) trad firms
Post by: jonnyald on February 26, 2010, 07:53:31 am
in my town are one of these , have about 6 vans  and uniforms   and 2 men per van.  i imagine its hard work running such an outfit.  they set the standard  and do you guys have one similar near you ? or maybe you run one like this?

last summer i had an interesting chat with a trad guy who had been going a few years and had built up to 3vans but then the most loyal workers left and he then had 2 years of finding new workers and they loved it at first but always left after realising the workload was megga . he wanted to shift a few hundred customers onto me, but i only want to stay a 1 man set-up .

Look at the overall image, not only window cleaning.

Some people working from home opt for a PO Box to avoid callers at their home, in some cases a more professional address and prevent competitors from knowing more than they should! It is more common than you think

just now im happy enough on my own,. but i know im probably going to have  opportunitys in future to take on others work .to do that i would have to employ

is it likely theres much reward in running a trad firm of any size? or is it just constant grief
