Hi all
I've had three of these in the last 12 months now; along with the loss of the payment I get charged £4 by the bank. Do you have this happen? How frequently? How do you deal with it with your custies? Do you charge them more than the fee the bank charges you.
Cheers

Re issue the cheque a couple more times that way they get charged aswell 2 fold.

;) Almost worth the £4 a time it would cost me.

Yes - once, just before Xmas. I photocopied the banks letter, attached my letter claiming the full amount plus the £4 and went round and got paid cash. It was only £24 in all; a genuine error on her part and she is still a custy.

Yeah, that's what i've done to date. I did drop one that I heard was a regular cheque bouncer.

Some years ago now it was made a criminal offence to issue a cheque knowing there weren't funds in the account to meet it.
You could threaten to take the cheque to the police.

Pretty sure I've only had two in the 13 years I've been doing it.
They'd simply written the cheque from the wrong account.
