Post by: euan78 on February 24, 2010, 10:10:52 pm
hi im planning to go wfp in may and was wondering if my round is suited i have a few private estates and also council ones there all very compact especialy the council ones so im pretty quick with it being one house after an other would wfp be any quicker and if so how much

i find it quicker, i do my work in about half the time now that the windows are clean,  i just park my van up in the middle of the houses and walk from one end to the other,  u might feel that it takes a while the first few times, till you work out where is best to park the van, and getting the windows spotless

euan, just make sure you clean all the frames and sills with a cloth while you are up there on those ladders, before you go wfp, this will make it easier for you when you change over to wfp

thanks mate. Ive read  and heard a lot of opinions on speed difference some say its only 10 percent and some like yourself say as much as 100 percent id be happy with 25 percent surely thats acheivable

i have compact rounds like you, it is 50% faster after the first cleans are out of the way, hence why i mentioned wiping down frames,  before changing over, be prepare for sore muscles lol no one tells you that,

only lost 3 customers in 2 years, gained more than i lost, my advice is ask here if anyone in your area is prepared to take you out for a days training, you will learn the right way to use wfp and how to use it, and i promise, you will never look back,

it is not all about being quicker, the quality of wfp is far superior to trad, and you get a lot more money than you could ever have asked before, show me a trad w/c who does the glass, frames, exterrior doors, garage doors ,all on every clean,???  i do becouse i am wfp, and faster, not just that,   there house looks better to, they get true value for money, my saying is, our window cleaning service is the equivelant of a full valeting service, beat that quote  ;D

i think you should give it a bit more time lammy.im not shelling out on 5grand+ on van and system to use it just on "awkward" windows!

im doing it for a few reasons:

1.safer

2.faster esp on my bigger accounts= INCREASED INCOME!

3.can build another round of bigger accounts too dangerous off ladders=INCREASED INCOME!

4.more thorough job(frames/doors/outside gutters)

5.easier for conny roofs/fascia cleaning=INCREASED INCOME!

NO BRAINER! ;D ;D

lammy its like any other tool, you need to know how to use it  ;D i have never had to use trad since i went wfp, i have never come across anything yet i cannot clean, i dont understand this, or you must have some diffrent kind of dirt i dont know about  :o i wfp every thing no matter what it is, its so simple, yet on these forums they have all these problems,

YEH BUT LAMMYS PUSHING 40!(LIKE ME!(38!)) ;D ;D

you will slow down as we both age lammy and its hard work!(16 years trad!)

i dont think my knees could handle another 16 years on the ladders either!

im thinking of the longer term.i enjoy trad and no doubt ill still do a bit but i really want to get rid of most of the ladder work.ive fell off twice.i was very lucky.i also have some very large houses that im sure would be so much easier with wfp after first cleans!

hitman, thats how we all felt the first time, once you tell your custs how it works, all will be fine, to be honest 70% dont care thats the truth of the matter, just as long as they are clean and smear free, they are happy

your speed willbe determined by things like access, a lot of my houses i get easy access and makes life easy, but i have 3 bungalows which are a pain and can take 45 mins just to do these, yet i can do two semi detached houses next to each other both 4 bed in 30 mins,  it evens its self out

i thought that when i started them, but its the access on them, they have stupid windows, to be honest i cant be bothered to go back to the van to get trad gear, as would need pole anyway
