I was going to quote you a square yardage rate but then I noticed it was steps. This means in the main your going to have to hand-ball them and if Joe Public is about your going to have to do half at a time.

I would suggest telling your client that you want to do a test clean just to make sure you can get the standard you want for them then actually strip a single step. That way you will be able to work out a 100% accurate quote and not lose out if the job has massive build up in the corners and bottom of the risers.

It will also allow you to identify any loose / lifting tiles so you can note this in your quote.

Sorry if I sound like Dr Death but I once got caught out BIG style doing a job for Barclays Bank like this :-) Best of luck. Phil D

Wonder if the guys that have asked you to re-seal have considered the implications of future maintenance and the cost involved.

Also, if its residential, how do you ensure no one walks over the semi wet sealant?

We have been asked by managing agents to do this type of work but not one has ever appreciated the above.
