cant be v big houses?

on a average of £10 per house that would mean youve had a v good day!

still trad at mo and only done 10 houses today! snow n rain! but i guess its not the amount of houses its the amount of money that counts hey.

i think it can be done! 2 man system and plenty of water and of course a nice close round with small £5 - £7 houses.

if i can do 20 3/4 bed houses trad then 2 guys wfp can do 70 small houses wfp.

Oh ye of little faith suds!

Let's give the benefit of the doubt here and imagine that these "small" houses have seven windows and two doors each. Let's also imagine that "some" are fronts only due to gate access issues and let's also imagine that "me and the lad" work seperately and the work is so compact that they can do several before moving the van.

Ok - let's think that if organised then between 8am and 4pm (when john k ran in the door and posted as fast as he could.) they do seven hours on the glass (allowing an hour to write slips, eat grub and move the van) at 5 houses per hour at 12 minutes each house because they're "cooking with gas" and not doing the frames and cills too thoroughly.

Therefore 35 houses each at say £6 a pop = £210 each.

Definitely do-able if as stated it "went like clockwork!"

Now if those houses were a bit more spaced or standard semi's with say ten windows and two doors then it'd be 56 houses at 4 per hour each at £8 a pop = £222 each - still doable.

COME ON

i have a round with about 80 properties cleaned trad, i do up a lad does down, takes just over 400 done in a good day, usually i do it alone in 2 easy days 1 a week (fortnightly)

but its very compact and top windows are very low

and although the individual unit prices may seem low the hourly /daily rate adds up very well very quick

so i wont disbelieve what hes saying

what he earned although being private is another matter

ill be very impressed if the average is more than 6-7 a house!!

i agree thats its better to NOT say how many you can do and how much you make......it only gets peoples backs up....and causes arguments...and we cant have that kinda goings on on cleanitup ::)

joking aside.......its possible to do any amount of work, and if someone says they can do 100 houses a day at 4 or 5 quid i will not argue the point with them.........its all down to quality and not quantity though........i have been in this game for over 25 years now and i must be giving a good level of service to remain in the game........and i have to remember that i am getting older and my targets for each day have to be realistic......so i now only aim for 40-50 jobs a day...if i beat that target on a good day then i go home happy...if i dont meet that target then i go home and take out my frustrations on you guys on the forums......funny thing is i have never had an argument with ANY of you guys......(yet) ;D

I would have believed that would be very nice earnings for a sole trader doing domestics.

When I first read your reply, I thought you were being sarcastic.

Your maths (and reasoning) now leave me in 'limbo' - do I believe the original post, or not?

"Well done" to 'john k', if he did do it. I know I couldn't - how about you (just curious)?

Title: Re: 70 houses
Post by: AuRavelling79 on February 23, 2010, 09:23:50 pm
>Mike 108 - I'm saying that as an exceptional one off that two guys could do 70 small houses in an 8 hour shift at 13.6 man minutes per house on compact work wfp if it ran like clockwork on regular work and some of them were fronts only.

But 70 divided by two is 35 so that is only just over 4 per hour per man. But at £6 per house; maybe a few at £4 for just the fronts; then that's about £400 for two people in a day.

> actualcleaning - The £700 pw comment. I wasn't making a mockery at all; I was just saying I would not be happy with it. I aim higher. I don't always get it and I accept that in winter in poor weather that £700 in a week is acceptable. But if you are wfp, organised and doing it right then three and a half days should get you there.

If you wish to average £700 turnover over a year (35K) then you need to aim for £1000 a week in the weeks where you can get full days of work in.

Malc

Yes, I am gradually being persuaded (over the last 12 months) that £200 per day is easily possible, on the 'right' jobs.

I have come to realise that I don't take £200 per day because I don't NEED to take £200 per day. Consequently, I work at an easier/slower pace and am satisfied to earn only what I DO need.

Malc, I enjoy your posts/responses - they are invariably well thought out and never 'knee-jerk'

Regards,

Mike
